FLC Renews Solemn Commitment

21st anniversary massDuring the Eucharistic Celebration of their 21st Anniversary as a Community in the Church, the members of the Family Life Community led by the Overseers of the Community renewed their "Solemn Commitment" to one another.

Fr William Blanda, Pastor of St Mary Magdalen Church in Abbeville, was the celebrant of the Mass assisted by altar servers Claire Boudreaux, daughter of Scott and Jenni Boudreaux, and Nicholas Leblanc, son of Steve and Manique Leblanc one of the Overseer Couples of the FLC.

Lectors for the Mass were Pat and Vickie Patout, Lighting of the Unity Candle and proclamation of its significance was performed by Fred and Sandy Dubois,both couples members of the Overseer team.

The presentation of the Offertory Gifts was performed by Ed and Jo Beth Bourgeois and their daughters Rebecca and Hannah. The FLC Music Ministry led by Benny and Pam Domingue provided the Liturgical music for the Mass. Fr Blanda in his Homily commended the FLC on its perseverance of 21 years countering the secular culture of our times and continuing to proclaim authentic Catholic faimily life and evangelization.

He also noted the appreciation of the clergy of the surrounding Church Parishes for the witness and services the FLC renders their parishes. He exhorted the Community to continue on its course not losing heart in the face of difficulty and persecution in the malevolent society of our time.

Following the Mass, the evening concluded with the serving of the Anniversary cake and punch along with fellowship. Praise the Lord!
